City recognizes Red Ribbon Week
Mayor Zac Burden has issued a proclamation recognizing Red Ribbon Week in Kirksville from October 23-31, 2026.
Red Ribbon Week offers citizens the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to drug-free lifestyles. Businesses, government, law enforcement, media, health care providers, religious institutions, schools, and other community-based organizations will demonstrate their commitment to drug-free lifestyles by wearing red ribbons and participating in drug prevention activities.
The 2026 Red Ribbon Week theme, “Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free,” emphasizes that choosing to live drug-free is an act of leadership and courage, and that everyday decisions can positively influence peers, families, and communities.
